Another point of view - The Den

Waiting for Cass, she was softly pacing instead of singing and yeah she was worried.

And exactly 15 minutes later, there came the soft, tell tale knock of Cass' hand. Jeans, t-shirt and pleather (yes pleather) jacket. She was wearing a concerned expression.

"It's Cassiel."

Opening the door and letting her in, "Thanks for coming over." with a forced smile at her.

She stepped in and closed the door behind her. Her brow furrowed. "Greer, sugar, what's wrong?"

"I got a really creepy call the other night. It makes no sense but it says I need to protect Jim." with a look at her. "I wanted another point of view and you could tell me I am crazy and it's a crank call or say yes it's something and help me figure this riddle out."

She blinked and almost told Greer to sit down... but... If it made her comfortable to pace, then, who was Cass to stop her?

"Okay, start from the beginning and lay it on me. Spare no details."

"I got a call the other night. It was moments from when I woke up, then it was a modulated voice asking if I was me, and I asked who was calling. They said it was unimportant but then said "The dragon that dwells is a snake in the grass. It is time. It should be done. Run the snake from the reeds now, chop off its head, before it is too late." They said it would make sense, empathizing Dragon, time, and snake." looking at her to see if she'd lost her already or not.

She raised an eyebrow and then dug in her bag for a small notepad and a pen. She sat down and, word for word, wrote everything down that Greer said.

"The fact that it asked you if you were you and didn't appear out of this air makes me think it probably wasn't one of those... things..."

She looked at Greer with a soft expression.

"Dragon, snake and time. So... time is running out on something. Dragons and snakes..." She thought for a moment. "Snakes could be Setites but. Dragons... where have I heard... Ah... Tzimisce. But whoever is talking, is talking about the snake. Only Setites I know about run Libations."

She shook her head. "Fucking riddles. I hate them. What about the voice, can you describe it to me?"

"It was altered with male and female qualities. And the dragon is what needs ferreted out." with a sigh and looking at her. "So I asked questions, got that it's a He, that's it's not one that partakes in sex and not to look it in the eyes." pulling out a bundle of notes " The dragon has plans for the man that sleeps next to me, do not let him be changed and the dragon plans to destroy all." looking at her with the look of worry on her face not even trying to hide it.

"What, is it a fucking Basilisk from Harry Potter?" She shook her head, she didn't mean it to sound like a joke. "So, it's targeting Jim. Not cool. Okay... Let me think..."

She tapped the pen to her bottom lip.

"Wait... A Tzim? Mother of Christ, really? Why is is always Tzim?"

Greer kept flipping through her notes, "But the Dragon is a Blue dragon wishing to awash the place in blood." looking at her "It is arrogant he, do not say it's name for it can hear you and supposedly I've met him if I understood the caller right." looking at her.

Her eyes narrowed to Greer. She scribbled a few more notes.

"Odd... What's the significance of a blue dragon? Why be that specific?" It was obvious that her brain was spinning now. "So... name all the non-sexual individuals in the domain you've met? We'll make a short list."

"That I've meet - I don't think the previous Seneschal seemed the type, the former scourge and the child in the sea." she looked at her "That's all I can think of, but what if it wasn't answering that question...." she started to pace again.

"What do you mean?" She quirked a brow.

"I asked if it was a he and that I knew him... maybe it was just answering that it was a he. It also said it was not a fallen but one of our kind. That is manipulates everything and everyone it comes into contact with." looking at her with a sigh. "I really don't know."

"Fucker sounds kindred to me, just by that last statement," she shook her head. "But none of the ones you mentioned are Tzimisce. So... Maybe... this has nothing to do with Tzims or Setites..."

Again, she tapped the pen to her lips. "Blue dragon... Blue... Blue... Why blue? Blue can symbolize sadness. Blue is also the preferred color for males. So... maybe that was one of the hints it was a male."

She shook her head.

"Alright, what do we know about dragons? Dragons hoard treasure, guard over it. They're secretive and reclusive. They breathe fire. What else?"

"Slang for Tzime, blue could be cold or electricity, dragon's are supposedly magical, and in D & D colored dragons are evil." with a smile at her that yes she's spent far to much time in book stores browsing.

"Dragons are often depicted differently in different cultures as well. In China, they are benevolent as where in Europe they are malevolent." Another shrug. "Given the nature of the call and the warning entailed, I would gather this is a rather European take on it."

"In terms of cold... well... not compassionate? Inhumane? But, really... How many humane Tzimisce does one ever run into?"

"I've not met one that I know of." with a look at her. "Play on the color blue? celestial blue, navy blue, azure blue" looking at her "But whom ever called knew I'd had issues with the fallen....." with a I hate riddles too look on her face.

"Greer, honey... You need to tell me the whole phone conversation. Everything you can remember. Because it means one of two things-- either it's something dealing with the Fallen or something's watching you."

Her voice was low... She wasn't trying to scare Greer... But... there was something familiar about all of this.

"Well I got the message, then I said it made no sense, then was told it will, and the message was repeated with the emphasis like I said. I asked more questions, got that it wants to do something with or to Jim, and that I should not let it. BUT if I don't know WHO it is - this is really a mute point...." her voice cracking and looking at Cass.

"Really it's frustrating. I asked if I knew who this was biblically, was told it thought it's self above such things, it's arrogant and wants the destruction of all I cherish...." starting to pace again getting upset again.

She pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed.

"If it's Tzimisce, we should take it to Rai. She was already made aware of another situation that possibly involved Tzimisce over the summer when I was... visited... by ah... members of clan Tremere, warning me of something. It... became a game of clue. Clues to the threat were given all over the domain-- sandcastles, daggers, corn husk dolls-- all sorts of things. The only thing that made sense was that it pointed to Tzimisce in the end. But... I don't know. I left that in the hands of Rai and Victor knew about it. They told me... these... kindred... Tremere... they told me to stop the threat."

She swallowed hard.

Greer looks at her "Do you know what all the clues were? Serpent can mean dragon as well right?" as she was obviously going over things again in her head.

"Cass this needs fixed, with every thing else I really don't know what I'd do ...." shaking her head and starting to pace again.

"Biblically speaking? Yeah... there's a bit of a cross over between dragons and snakes... And I know what all the clues were, yes." She tapped the side of her head. "All of them."

"A noose, a sandcastle, a dagger, a wrench, a photograph, a candlestick, a pipe, a flashlight, the moth, the bloody towel, worms, a cup, a key, an eye, a pyramid, a watch, a bear, a book, a doll in a box, the tiara, the ouja, the corn husk doll and a radio. Then there was a sandcastle, a photograph of a river between two mountains and a child's toy."

She shook her head again. "I was told that the threat lay just outside of the Regency, in close proximity. When I went to investigate, I ran into... a hunter, Ilse. I handed everything to Rai... and we determined that it was a game of Clue. We even tried to match people in the domain to the characters in the game, but it didn't... didn't add up. The idea of the Tzimisce came later. And the Tremere...er...ghosts... Astral forms? Well, they all said it was, in fact, Tzim. Creepy fuckers, too... they spoke in unison."

"So it no longer must be outside the domain?" looking at her. "I feel like I am missing something that's right in front of my face. How about you?"
