Five Weeks (open)

She smiled.

"Trial and error. Usually if something went wrong, it lets itself be known. In the form of maybe a lamp exploding or something. If nothing seems to happen, it probably worked. Just try talking to your chair or something and if it talks back, you did it right."

Victor nodded. "Wait. So I could be like that Scottish guy in that Star something movie? 'Hello Computer?' "

She blinked.

"Are you talking about Star Trek? Or something else?"

"Yeah. It was in the 80's and I don't remember why I watched it. That's the same people who did Enterprise, right?"

She actually winced.

"Oh, God. You're hurting me."

"Why? I love that show. It's classic human spirit facing the frontier stuff. With aliens. And time travel."

"Enterprise is a shit show with shit actors and shit story and shit theme song."

"I love that theme song. I have it on my MP3 player."

She held up a hand and frowned.

"Get out. Get. The fuck. Out. That song blows."

"I've got a bunch of Johnny Cash too..."

She smirked.

"Johnny Cash is fine."

"Hang on... I'm changing your ringtone now..."

She stared at him.

"I swear to God, I will haunt you if you do." And she had the power to do it.

"Sweet. I don't get many visitors, and the last haunting I had just screamed at me and broke a mirror. Never did figure out what that was all about."

She blinked.

"You've had a haunting? Like, a for-real, legit one?"

"Couple years ago. I told you about it. It showed up basically made noise, and left. This was right near sundown. It broke a mirror. Also, I lied, everyone's ringtone is morse code of their name, and my text messages automatically playback as morse if I have the app on. It's easier to multitask that way, and I can still hear my messages without being interrupted by spoken word."

She smiled, a secretive smile.

"Not anymore, it isn't."

"Are we talking about the fact I still cling to Morse telegraphy as a communication method, or the screaming disembodied voice and broken mirror?"

She grinned.

"We're talking about the fact that I just fucked around in your phone and your ringtone for everyone has been changed."

"I think I hate you" he said checking to see what her ringtone was, and what Miyu's was.

"So literally, no idea about the screaming voice?"

She just grinned. He was going to have to get a call before he would find out what she'd changed the ringtone to.

"Not without coming over and seeing if I can talk to it."

Victor shrugged. "Come over anytime, I'll make it worth your time. Might even have Belgian chocolates and vodka soaked strawberries"

"Now you're just teasing me..."

"No..." he said tapping at his phone and holding up a screen showing that he'd just ordered a very expensive array of Belgian chocolates. "I'm not. If you don't eat these, I'll have to split them between Audrina and Viho, and the quality will be lost on a toddler werewolf."

She stared at him.

"As soon as everyone is healed enough, I'll be over."
