Crickets (open)

Ali was working a double again she was here from 8pm to 4:30am. Her favorite two hackers were oddly her only company even though the logs said she should be slammed. She sent a text and then started to work on her own projects. Economics dropping with a pass, did take a ton of stress from her.

He liked the quiet that the computer lab. So he walked inside, his bag slung over his shoulder and headed toward the back of the lab to work.

She looked up as he entered with a smile and a wave at him, then back to her books and back to work.

He smiled at her, then sat down to get to work himself.

The computer lab was oddly quiet, but for the typing sound of those on the computer.

He pulled out his books and started to tap away at one of the computers in the back, trying to not disturb anyone that was in the lab.

She relaxed seeing he was there and that it was all she needed to go back to her paper full force. She sent a text about a 1/2 later "Want to smoke at 1am?"

His phone was on silent. Which meant that he felt the vibrations all the way down his leg as he sat there. After he checked it, Ali had a response.

Sounds good to me.

She nodded and then went back to work on her paper. The room really was oddly peaceful with everyone's typing filling the silence but it was just the 4 of them, and then at 1 she stood up. "Hey guys can you hold it down for the next 15?" with a grin at the two programers working on their projects and were regulars at the computer lab.

He glanced at her when she spoke, looking slightly confused that the time had passed so quickly. So he looked surprised, but at least seemed to be ready to head outside, rising to his feet.

She waited for him then headed out back. Once out back she offered him a smoke before lighting her own. "Very quiet night but it's my last night and then I am working at Sugar's." she said with a soft laugh.

He took the offered cigarette, then gave her a smile.

"Going for the redhead's offer, huh?"

'Yes it's good money, I can house sit, work and go to school - even if I loose my scholarships." with a grin at him. Taking a long drag she looked at the behind the lab, "Last night to stare at the dumpster."

He smiled.

"Does that mean that I won't get to see you anymore?"

"No I made sure we'd still get to have study time." with a grin at him. "If you can handle Sunday through Wednesday with your schedule?"

He smiled.

"Sounds good to me. I can swing it."

She smiled back at him, "And I can give you a spare to my place if you need a quiet place to study. I'm now working most nights.' with a shrug 'So the place will be empty and quiet."

He smiled.

"I'll probably just come here and hang."

"Well I don't guarantee the same group once I quit." with a half smirk at him. "The "party" guy is taking over so I won't promise quiet here." with a long exhale.

His brow rose.

"Well, that will be annoying."

"I know just warning you, rumor is he and his girlfriends keep the place well hum busy. BUT that's only rumors." with a shake of her head and another drag.

He laughed and took a drag from his cigarette.

"I might play spy."

"Oh and then what? See if it's true?" with a laugh and an exhale.

He laughed as he took another drag from the cigarette.

"More like just seeing what he's up to."

"Well you'll have to tell me all about what you find out." with a smirk at him and a chuckle. Finishing her smoke she glanced at him. "It's going to be odd with the change of schedule and not seeing you when I'm use too." with a frown at him.
