She nodded.

"Then let us move to the living room, and we can talk."

Areron nursed her drink and followed Henrietta to the living room.

"I was going to tell the prince some of this stuff, but he can bite me." She said flippantly. She took a seat and got comfy in the living room and set her drink down.

"Oh how rude of me, I haven't even asked how you were!"

She sat with care, setting the bottle down on the table.

"I am doing well, cherie. But please, continue. I would adore to know the local gossip."

Areron nodded. "Well, I got the goods on this Darius fellow. He didn't steal the ghoul he claims. The ghoul, Bethy is her name, had a vision in his presence that said that Chet would die if she stayed with him, so in order to save his life she left him and asked Darius to be her domitor in order to stay alive."

"The ghoul wasn't lying and Darius seems rather unremarkable other than his sire, Victoria Ash, being a prince. He has no status. He adored his sire but she sent him away."

"I'm not sure if I buy it all, but Chet is running around threatening to stake Darius and dump him in the middle of the atlantic. My gangrel informant, Leslie, and Chet's co-scourge assistant, said that he asked her to help him fuck up Darius. Can you imagine? She's going to talk sense into him, but I imagine we'll have an attempt on Darius soon enough."

She smiled.

"That poor ghoul. But better that she has a new Domitor than become rogue. Independent ghouls are very dangerous. I am glad that this Darius fellow has taken her in. You have warned him that Chet has these plans?"

"Yes, I sent him a letter. But I don't know how capable he is at defending against such an attack. Chet does run around with vampire teeth around his neck, as disgusting and rude as that is, it does say something about his abilities."

"Darius has no status of his own, so I imagine he's young. Now I'm kicking myself for not asking his age. Either way, he wishes to see me outside of Elysium. I told him I would be available after Christmas."

She smiled.

"Meet with him. If you feel uncomfortable, Doc can come with you."

"That would make me feel more comfortable, yes. Just in case. Though I imagine it will be fine, if not boring for Doc." She agreed.

"The reason I can't meet with him before then is I've been working myself to the bone trying to get this armor done for the Prince. You know about his plan to meet leaders of the Fae?"

She shook her head.

"I managed to miss that one."

"Well, I think it's hush hush. But the Fairies aren't happy about Eve killing one of their leaders, Lady Clara, and the other one. They are furious, in fact, and in order to avoid a war the Prince is going to meet with thier leaders face to face."

"Griselda is utterly terrified for Jamie and is asking everyone she can trust to help protect him. I am making him indestructable armor that will be warded against Fae. And I asked the Ravnos to be there because I remembered that they used to have 'fairy hunter' in their clan."

She nodded.

"That is quite disturbing. It is good that you are working on the armor. We could not have Jamie dying."

Not yet.

Areron nodded.

"Indeed. The date for the event is the day after Christmas."

She nodded.

"I'm surprised she hasn't asked me to have Doc on hand."

"Hm, me as well. She doesn't trust Victor though. So if she suspects you might be working with him... she told me Victor was a fool who would use me and discard me and I shouldn't take his advice." Areron said angry at her words.

"Victor will keep you so long as you are useful to us."

"She just doesn't know. You and Victor aren't like that. She's just worried for me. I'm... Victor already knows so I bet you do too. Griselda is my sire."

She smiled.

"Then she would be worried about you. Very worried. I know mine was of me."

"Was? Is your sire not around anymore?"

She shook her head.

"He met final death about a century ago."

Areron nodded, "I'm sorry for your loss."

She bowed her head, then took a sip of her drink.

"Merci, cherie."

"And there's more... we have two open slots in the Primogen council. The Nos and the Tremere. The Tremere is something I need to talk to the clan about, Primogen McKay is dealing with the damned nos."

She nodded.

"That is troubling."

"Yes. Though I am not sorry to see either go to be honest. Did you know that Portor leant his positional status to Teddy for Harpy?"

She raised an eyebrow at that.

"Really? How odd."
