He chuckled. "Do you consider this a fair exchange?"

She nodded.

"Fair enough. How much do you want to know?"

"As much as you'll tell me actually"

She smiled.

"About what, though? Her time in Seattle, her time as a mortal, her time as...?"

He frowned. "Given how dangerous she is, knowledge is power. How much for everything you got ?"

She laughed.

"No, I'm saying pick a starting point."

"Might as well start with mortal " he laughed

She smiled.

"Areron was raised in Seattle, actually. Her mother died when she was very young, but her father... her father believed that they were elves. No, really, like, pointy-ears, Legolas and whatnot."

"Huh? Who? Oh lord of the rings ? Is she one ?"

She laughed softly.

"Elves do not exist. So, no, she isn't."

"Didn't think vampires existed until about 13... Ah 113 years ago, so just checking. So her father was crazy. Does she still think shes part elf ?"

She laughed.

"No, not really. She went to Julliard, you know. That's where her sire found her."

"So she went from a musician to a swordsmith?"

She shrugged.

"I honestly don't know. Though Julliard is a school for artists, not just musicians anymore."

"Ah, I see. Was there anything else notably about her mortal life ?"

She shook her head.

"Not really. A large family, but they all are Ren-faire freaks who think that they are elves."

"Ren faire?" Confused anarch was confused

She blinked... then she sighed.

"I'll send you some literature."

"Elves.... In a fair devoted to birds. This century is confusing. Perhaps it is all those tests of atomic weaponry that mutated the brains of modern mortals. "

She snorted quietly.

"That was an interesting time. You should have been there for the discussions."

"I mean.... Look at Japan. " as if that said it all right there.

"Yeah, I bet I missed a lot of interesting things, but so far this century has been kinder to me than the last one. "

She smiled.

"Many of us find it to be so."

"Two world wars likely do a lot to temper a society. Anyway though, back to the topic at hand, what happened after her embrace ? What was she studying ?"

She shrugged.

"No clue. Didn't ask, wasn't important. After her Embrace, though, she became a swordsmith. And a damned good one. Right up until Mr. Grimm got his hands on her."

"Who is Grimm?"
