He nods, slightly. "I had that, once. I have been a kindred for only a bit over a decade... but it feels so long ago. A century worth of ache... with and without her."

He looked down.. as if to his feet. "I feel, too much... the scars upon my body, are evidence of that. I feel every betrayal.. every lost friend.. every love that has died around me.. within me.. a thousand fold. I am at my most controled, but i think... it is still too easy to reach my heart." metaphorically, obviously. It was anything but easy, usually, to ACTUALLY reach his heart. Now would be an excellent opportunity.

"Sometimes... I try so hard, to get myself killed... for I am too much of a coward to do the deed myself. Challenging kindred, young and old... taking on packs of sabbat, on my own, at a time... staring down wolves... I get so close... to ending the pain, but something always stops it... "

He sighed. "I want the pain, to stop... yet, I have found another... a girl. I have drawn her close to me, selfishly, which could very well end up getting her killed. But I can't help myself. Don't want to help myself. With her, the pain eases... disappears, but I have a history of getting those I get close to, dead.. and when she is dead and gone, I will suffer great pain."

He reached up and rubbedhis temple, as if there was a headache there. "I just want it to stop."

She tilted her head as she listened, nodding.

"I can understand the desire. But, I am told, being unfeeling has its drawbacks. Pain is an indicator and it is what makes us what we are. To lose the pain means to lose the pleasure. To see the world in a shade of gray rather than in the color that it now shows for you. Would you truly wish to lose that? Pain is difficult, but pain is not the only emotion that there is to feel."

"Sometimes, I think it is completely worth it..." he said, without hesitation.

"Would it be so bad, to be mechanical? No care... no hurt.. no concern, just what needs to be done. No compassion... no longing.." he motioned to her. "When I first met you, Iwanted to bite and fuck you straight into oblivion.. to outright rape from you, whatever I wanted." he snorts. "Instincts, I can only barely control. I already have disregard for taking life.. it means nothing to me, but being loved... caring about others... sometimes, it is all too much."

She seemed thoughtful for a few moments.

"The one who has the answers as to what you seek is a man named Bunicul. You will find him, if you look hard enough. He shuns modern technology, so there is no easy way to contact him. But you will know him when you see him."

He perked a brow, but didnt stop looking down at the edge of the boat. "Is it really that easy? 'I know a guy, that give you what you want.'" He sat silently, in thought... for a long time.

He eventually nodded. "Very well. Where do I find this person and how will I know, when I do? What does he look like... for when i finally decide to pull the trigger?"

She looked over at him.

"You won't miss him. You can find him anywhere, though I'm told he prefers the cemetery."

"The Tzimisce." he muttered. "Mist told me, of him...."

He took a slow breath in, lifting his head and then gaze found hers again. "Well... I guess this lets you off the hook, then..."

"Having to spend too much time, with me, was the hook."

He focused on her eyes, now.

"Powers, understanding Setites, and following the path you clan takes. One of three, seems to able to be ommited, so I suppose that spares you some time spent, on me. So.. I guess the proper thing to say, would be PARTIALLY off the hook"

Her brow rose.

"I have somehow given you the impression that I mind spending time with you?"

"No, but I am certain you have better things to do, than spend any extra unnecissary time upon me."

A clawed hand slipped up, delicately running the tips, across her check. NOt even the slightly break of skin, in the actions.

"It is likely, not very safe, to spend too much time, with me... not for you.." he said, witch a slight frown slipping across his features. "Im the kind of fucked up, that can get out of hand, in the wrong moments..."

Her brow rose as she turned to look at him.

"I'm a big girl. I can take my chances."

It was his turn to perk a brow. "Chances should only be taken, when there is worth to be gained in them. What worth do you see in this?" Reptilian eyes blinked slowly. They focused on her lips, as she spoke... hand reluctantly pulling away from her face.

"A powerful ally, if my cards are played right." At least there was honesty to it.

He let out an amused snorting sound. Kind of a huff. "Fair enough." He really wasnt bothered by it, at all. It was expected, really.

"I cannot place set days, of when I can come around. Many things are changing, and my presense within the city will be a bit... withdrawn, temporarily."

Her brows rose.

"All is well, I hope?"

"Let's just say, I am looking to get my priorities back in order, thanks to unholy intervention."

He glanced to her, "I used to be... so much more, than this..." he waved a hand up and down his form, a look of disgust was on his face, for a moment. "And I have the opportunity to return to my former path. As such... going to need alot of quiet time." A slow nod.

She nodded.

"I understand. If you need help at all, just tell me."

"That depends... what do you understand about genetic sequencing?" he chuckled, the joke likely to amuse himself, more than her.

He moved, then, to turn and look upon her... moving towards her, hesitantly. "There IS something I need... let's see just how good you are, at understanding the desires of others..." his head tilted slightly, observing her. He moved to stand directly before the egyptian beauty... waiting... curious.

Her brows rose.

"That is not my area. That is my brother's area, actually."

"Apologies, I was under the impression that it was a general talent, among the Setites." he twitched, the right side of his face did, rather, then looked about. Or maybe she had been talking about the sequencing. No matter.

"Perhaps, we should return. I dare not keep you any longer, with the dribble that is starting to slip out." a slight shrug. Something in his tone, or actions, said he needed to leave. NOt that he WANTED to leave, but there was almost a sense of urgency. He seem... bothered.

She nodded with a smile.

"Of course. I'll send word down to the captain to turn us around. And while it may be a general talent among the Setites, the truth of the matter is that I'm not your average, ordinary Setite."

"OH? And what seperates you, from yours? I differ from my 'family' due to my urban nature and style... how do you differ?" head tilted, curiuosly.

She pursed her lips thoughtfully.

"My brother and I are close. We always have been. I am the more martial of the two, always better with a fist or a sword. My studies run along those lines, rather than the 'normal' or 'accepted' ways of our family. My brother is more traditional."

He nodded slowly. "You need to be better..." was kind of a rude, or blunt statement... but not exactly ment in the context it might be initially taken for.

"What truly seperates me from the rest of the gangrel, is not the nature of my blood.. but my belief in progression. Evolution. Adaption. Am I making sense?" he sniffed once. "Traditionally, my clanmates shun the changing of the times. They sit and think of nights long past, and choose to ignore the forward motion of the world around them. While they speak to thier animals, and remember the days of old, I look to absolutely utilize ever tool that is available to me. Every advance, in technology and understanding... a weapon. A tool. The diversity and utilization of current and future technology, is absolutely vital to not only understanding the past, but unlocking the future. Potential becomes unlimited."

And apparently he was done with his mini-rant. "Punches.. swords.. fine and dandy. But when there is no room for a sword to swing, no time to draw it, and when fists are just not enough... you need more. Not just more, but something unexpected.. something that sets you not only apart from the skills of others, but far beyond it."

What in the fuck was he talking about?
