"It grows much bigger, I'm going to have to grow with it."

"Now I fear we are in Grinch territory, which is seasonally appropriate."

She laughed.

"You haven't seen how much I bought the Prince's daughter. It probably could have filled that sleigh twice over."

"I wasn't aware the Prince had a daughter. Perhaps I should pick something up."

She smiled.

"She's 6 going on 210. She was a wraith for a very long time, and is now a Revenant."

Porter's eyes go wide.

"This city...is indeed unusual. I shall have to cogitate deeply on an appropriate holiday gift for such a person."

She nods.

"I bought her everything from dolls to giant books on things that she might be interested in. She's a weird one."

"So she is child-like in demeanour, then. Or at least...when she chooses to be."

She nods.

"She pretends to be a child still for her father. He pretends to not see that she's pretending. Her friends see that she also needs adult conversation, as she's seen so much. But we all still pretend around him."

"Quite complex, and a little Shakespearean. With potential for heartbreak. I look forward to meeting the lass, when appropriate."

She nods.

"She's not likely to be in town until the Circus leaves. Too dangerous."

"Yes...that damn assemblage of freaks has disrupted quite a bit of our normal functioning, hasn't it. Have you heard if the carnival has taken anyone this time 'round?"

She nods.

"It took before it was even here. A Malkavian ghoul and a Toreador mute. Our sheriff got them both back, but they've been damaged."

"I have faith that His Majesty has a plan."

She nods.

"As do I. But I fear that some in this domain do not."
