Raiding the mini bar (Medwyn) - Creator's Workshop

Up four flights of stairs, Teddy seemingly opting for walking the whole way there rather than take the elevator. For.. several reasons actually. One of which was that lingering feeling in the back of her head that her looking at him from the corner of her eyes every now and then for no other reason than to, well, look.

"Home sweet temporary home" the blond smiled as she unlocked the door and pushed it open for him. "Make yourself comfortable" Teddy said as she rested her shoulders against the door, waiting for him to step inside before following him in.

It was a fairly simple room, nothing too extravagant though it served its purpose with a decent sized main room that, while it lacked a proper sitting group, did have a desk and chair in addition to a tv and what was a partially unpacked duffel bag thrown onto the unused side of the king sized bed, either side of which was a nightstand. The adjoining bathroom door was partially closed. And other than that? Well there wasn't much, except the mini bar that was. Which was part of their reason for going there in the first place now wasn't it?

He followed her lead, not seeming at all to complain about the multiple flights of stairs. The truth was that he seemed to enjoy just the walking, the being out and about, and spending time with her. He was smiling at her when she opened the door to the room, giving her a nod of thanks at her holding the door open for him. He glanced around once inside, likely out of habit noting doors and windows, possible escape routes if something should go wrong. "Nice, Teddy. This is actually one of the better rooms that I've seen." It wasn't the Regency. But then, few were.

"Thanks" she smiled, following him inside and closing the door behind them. "It's okay for a hotel" the blond said as she kicked her shoes off and pulled off her jacket and revealing the tank top she wore underneath.
"Mmm, you'll have to excuse the mess" she said with a soft laugh as she knelt down and removed the teddy bear from her belt.
"Go play Diego"
And sure enough, the teddy was set down on the floor where it stood for a moment, leaning its head back to seemingly look up Medwyn before it started wandering about on its own accord as Teddy straightened up again and looked to the Ghoul with a smile.
"Told you he'd want to stretch his legs" she winked.

He found a chair to sit down comfortably in. Once the bear started to walk around on its own, he started to laugh. He looked quite delighted. "Oh, my, but that is wonderful." He looked like he meant it, too.

The teddy bear wandered around for a bit, stopping and peering behind things as if looking for something until it wound a small red and blue ball which it picked up, walked out onto the middle of the floor with, and then sat down, bouncing the ball on the floor with both hands, err, paws.
"Thanks..." Teddy smiled happily watching Medwyn more then Diego for a few moments asshe found herself chewing softly on her lip. "He's one of my first creations actually" she added as she wandered over to the bed and proceeded to shuffle everything off it rather unceremoniously before straightening the sheets and sitting down on it, pulling her legs into a lotus position.
Since the place lacked a proper sitting group and no table other than the night stands and the desk, she patted the now made bed in front of her and looked to the other German again.
"Sit with me?" the blond asked. "I promise, no funny business" she giggled, though perhaps she was reminding herself about something more than just making him a promise.

First things first. He bent at the waist so that he could take off his boots. The reason being that it would just be rude to get sand in her bed, temporary bed or not. He pulled his boots off, one at a time, while still talking to her. "It's actually pretty amazing. Voice recognition is something that is still occasionally tricky. Even now, it doesn't always work properly." Once the shoes were off, he joined her on the bed, sitting next to her and pulling his legs up underneath him. "How long ago did you make Diego?"

"Oh I've had him for mm, thirty or fourty years I think" suggestion that it probably wasn't electronics powering the little fluffy toy currently playing by itself on the floor. At least no advanced computer software if it was that old.
"I always feel so old saying that" the blond chuckled, nipping at her lower lip and looking over to Medwyn again knowing full well that she was a kid as far as vampires and age went. "Oh! But where's my manners" she scrambled off the bed, somehow managing to do so without falling off it despite the moment where it looked like she might get tangled in the sheets.

"Let's see" Teddy smirked as she hunched down by the mini bar and opened it, sitting with her back towards Medwyn for the moment. The position meant her tank top slid up slightly, revealing a bit of skin and what looked like it might be a tattoo hidden underneath the fabric on the right side of her back.
It looked like the words I am not there... I did not die... had been written in black ink, probably part of something bigger. Though except for the colour it didn't seem to have any particular connection to the cogs and gears that adorned part of her upper left arm.
"Well at least they got a decent selection here. Anything you prefer?" came the smiling question as she rummaged through the content of the place and picked out the chips and nuts for starters.

He couldn't help himself. He did admire her form as she bent down. But he wasn't obvious with it. Ghouls, especially well-trained ghouls like Medwyn, learned how to look and watch and be inconspicuous while they did it. He was smiling, though, watching the teddy bear playing with his ball. "Well, that entirely depends, Teddy. Do you plan to take me up on my offer from earlier?" It was an important question, as it would affect how he answered hers.

Teddy fiddle with one of the bottles for a moment without turning around.
"If the offer still stands..." she said softly, still not having been able to shake that surprised feeling from earlier when he'd first offered. "Though only" she looked over her shoulder at him and smiled. "Only if you want to"

At that, he started to laugh. color=green]"Have you ever been bitten by one of your kind?[/color] Yes, it was a blunt question. But it mattered, more than she likely knew. "I don't mind at all. If I did mind, I wouldn't have offered." Unlike her, he wasn't unsure at all. He wasn't nervous. This was par for the course for him, and he seemed to be quite relaxed around her. "If you would like to, then I would encourage you to choose your favorite drink. The alcohol does change the taste, and I'd prefer for you to enjoy the experience as much as I am certain that I will."

"You're all too considerate" laughed the young woman who was constantly trying to make sure he was comfortable and didn't feel pressured. Go figure?
She turned back to the mini bar again as Diego, who'd managed to drop the ball, resulting in it rolling in under the bed, got up and wandered over to crawl in under it. Seemed the toy really liked his own toys.

"Well" Teddy snatched the packs of chips and nuts and got up, holding a couple of bottles in her other hand and yet somehow managing to clutch a glass between two fingers as well. Nimble fingers and a bit of dexterity helped when you were determined to carry everything in one go. "I got whiskey and they even had the decency, or possibly humor, to give me a bottle of Jäger" she added with another amused chuckle as she walked back to the bed, dropped the chips and nuts on the sheet and crawled up next to him again, tucking her feet back into a lotus position once more.
"If you'd prefer something else, there's a bottle of red, and one white as well. There's some beer too but it's American. Oh, and vodka" she said as she carefully put the bottles and glass down. "I'd really appreciate it if you chose something you like though. I invited you remember?"

She was so cheerful. Truly cheerful. It reminded him of another Kindred, though that one had had hair the color of flames rather than blonde curls. But still, it was refreshing. He did spend most of his time around Elders with very small senses of humor, after all. Though those Elders did like their drinks. "I assure you, Teddy, that anything that you choose or have just mentioned is fine. I am German, I will drink nearly anything you put in a glass and in front of me." It was probably not an understatement.

"Spoken like a true German" the blond smiled as she nudged his shoulder with her own. "Well" she picked up the glass, cradling it in her lap as she opened the bottle of Jäger and poured him a drink, careful to balance the glass so not to spill anything before screwing the cork back on and handing him the drink. The bottle she left on the bed next to the other, meaning they were within his reach for when he wanted more.
"A taste of home then" she grinned. "In more ways than one" at least for her, a thought that had her eyes lingering on him just a few moments too long to really be discreet before she caught herself and looked away.

"Where'd Diego go"
It wasn't really as much of a question as it was a distraction, for herself probably, as she turned over onto her stomach and leaned over the edge of the bed to check underneath it. At least it gave her a few moments to think of something else as she tapped her finger on the floor.
"So that's where you guys are hiding"

His right hand reached across his chest so that he could accept the glass that she offered. The glass didn't go immediately to his lips, however. Instead, he oped to bring the glass close, so that he could inhale the scent of the liquor before giving it a sample. The glass was brought to his lips and the first sip taken, just to judge the flavor. "Ah, yes, a taste of home. Do you miss Germany, Teddy?"

He ended up distracted for a moment. He could have told her that the bear had wandered under the bed, but for the moment, he settled on just watching her lithe frame as she leaned over the bed, looking under it and speaking to the mechanical toy. His lips curved into a sly smile. "You know, I think I need to mention this. You have an innocence about you, you know. You get all excited about your creations, like most Roses would, but there's something else about it. Maybe it's that you're a toymaker and that's the cause, but there's a sense of innocence around you."

Innocent?
Teddy bit her lip as she helped the teddy bear holding the ball out from under the bed and put him on the bed before sitting up herself.
"Yeah I miss home sometimes" she said, legs once again pulled in close as she rested her hands on her ankles. "But innocent? I dunno, maybe I just fake it real well?" the blond chuckled though she was horrible at faking anything at all. She didn't like lying, she didn't like being anyone other than herself and it probably shone through easily enough.

Diego sat on the bed for a few moments before blinking his button eyes at Medwyn and then holding the ball out for him. Thing was, it wasn't the same ball as the one he'd been playing with earlier. This one was metallic, looking as if something had curled into the shape of a ball really.

"And my toys..." she looked at the teddy bear offering him the strange looking object. "My passion and my calling I guess"

He eyed the bear for a moment. "Does he want me to play with him?" As odd as it sounded, he didn't want to offend the bear. That's right. He didn't want to upset the toy. But he listened and smiled at Teddy. "It may just be how much you seem to enjoy your toys. I can't put my finger on it, exactly."

"Here.." she reached out to take his hand if he'd allow it, turning it so that his palm was facing up and guided it down so that Diego could give him the metal object.
Teddy couldn't help but smile at the fact that he'd called her innocent, when really, she didn't much feel like she was. Still, she thought as she slipped her hand away from his, briefly brushing her cold fingers against his skin, it was nice...
"He wanted to to say hi" the blond said, turning her hand over and tapping the metal ball with her index finger, causing it to uncurl and turn into what appeared to be a cockroach. The clockwork critter twitched and shook as if stretching its limbs, a set of antennas uncurling and peaking curiously up at the German ghoul before it turned this way and that as if checking where it was in a distinctly roach like manner.

He laughed when he saw the contraption. He was delighted, again, by it. "Oh, does he have a name, too?" With an experimental hand, he held out his finger to see about touching the little cockroach, not in the least bit disturbed by the imagery. He was also making sure to actually drink the poured liquor fairly quickly, so that he could get it into his bloodstream just as quickly. He was smiling ... and he was almost treating the toys that she had there like children. Almost. "These are truly wonderful, Teddy. Truly."

Again, she seemed delighted by his reaction, folding her hands in her lap as she tilted her head slightly to the side while softly chewing on her lip.
"Thank you" she said softly while the roach reacted by lifting it's front legs and somewhat defensively poking at the man's finger before moving this way and then that, almost as if if checking out an opponent. It really did move and act in a bug like manner, wiggling its antennas at the man and doing those quick, somewhat staccato little instant movements that only an insect could truly manage.
"And that's... Rn'R" she chuckled. "Robo Roach. Highly original. But I was watching cartoons when I made him and it just kinda.. turned out that way"

He started to laugh. "Forgive me for saying so, but I'm getting Joe's Apartment flashbacks." He grinned at her, letting the roach poke at his finger. He was watching it with interest, happy to just let it do whatever it wanted to do. "And that's both good and bad."

"Oh God, there's a movie I haven't seen in ages" she laughed, touching the back of her hand to her lips while the roach decided to make, what was probably a very frightening pose in the insect kingdom, and then proceeded to jump off Mewyn's hand and crash land on Diego's face like some kind of clock work face hugger before scurrying off, soon to be followed by the teddy as it tumbled off the bed and ran after it. Ran being a somewhat relative term seeing as the teddy didn't have any actual knee joints and as such kind of waggled across the floor.
"I'm going to pester you into seeing it with me sometime now, you realize that right?"

He drained the first glass in his hand, reaching for the bottle beside him to pour himself a second glass. He watched the mechanical face-hugger with great interest and entertainment, then his lips turned up in a smirk. And that's when he started to chuckle. "I've not seen it in quite some time, myself. I'd love to watch it with you."

There was some commotion as the teddy ran after the roach which looked like it really just wanted to hide when it latched onto the curtains and scurried up and out of Diego's reach.

"That's great!" the blond exclaimed happily. "Hm, I wonder if they got it up on Netfix.." she mumbled to herself as she found that she was reaching for the duffel bag she'd knocked over on the floor earlier.
"Or heh, we could actually wait until we got something better to watch it on than a 15' lap top screen" she chuckled at herself and straightened up again as she scratched the back of her neck with her nails as she looked at him somewhat apologetically for getting carried away over seemingly nothing.

He started to laugh again. He was shaking his head while he started in on his second drink. "It's not a problem. Besides, saying 'next time' just keeps giving me reasons to come and see you again and again."

It was another one of her silly reactions, the way she found herself staring again, just a few second too long before prying her eyes off him and throwing a glance down at her lap as her fingers fiddled with, well, nothing. Damn it... nothing to disassemble or mess around with, meaning her fingers were just somewhat nervously fiddling with each other.
"I'd like that..." the blond found herself saying without thinking, quickly trying to smoothen it over though with a soft laugher as she looked up again and smiled. "I mean, it'll give me more time to figure out new and inventive ways to keep your company"
