She giggled. "Promises, promises."

"So are there any special rules? No cameras, no indoor grilling, no putting all the furniture in straight lines..."

He laughed.

"Ye took th' position. Tha' is up t' you now."

He nodded.

"I expect it t' be mostly borin', honestly. Bu', one can never be too careful. An' th' city has grown large enough t' need it."

"There does seem to be a lot of new faces roaming about."

He nodded.

"Aye. An' I'd rather ha' someone t' be able t' handle it wi'out me. An' ye are quite capable, if I remember correctly."

"Thank you. Her typically shy smile was back, the one she'd lost right before she left.

He laughed.

"Dinna thank me yet. Ye can thank me after ye handle your first big breach."

He gave her a wink.

"With my luck it'll happen my first night." She paused. "I probably shouldn't have said that out loud..."

He rapped his knuckles against her forehead - lightly.

"Knock on wood."

She made a hollow thocking sound with her tongue.

He laughed.

"Enjoy your new position. Thank God it's nay me anymore."

He folded his hands in front of him and gave her a gentle bow.

She returned the bow. Her expression still showing her surprise.

He laughed.

"Send me th' bill for th' decoratin' o' your office. Just dinna drown me in pink. I beg ye."

He laughed.

"My eyes thank ye."

She laughed softly.

He grinned.

"Did ye need anythin' else?"

He laughed.

"Ye an' everyone else, lass. At least ye are pleasin' t' look at."

He gave her a wink and kissed her cheek.

"Just let me know if ye need anythin'."

She looked down, somewhat shy, though smiling brightly. "I will, I promise."

He gave her a nod and a wink.

"I better get back t' th' wee one. She'll be makin' Medwyn nuts by now."

That made her laugh. "She does have quite a bit of energy."

He laughed.

"She's four. O' course she does. Though it helps when ye dinna get tired. Will ye come for dinner sometime soon?"

"Name the time and I'll be there."
