It's been a while (Henri) - Henri's Penthouse

She smiles.

"I can help you with everything but the Archery. And I have almost no constraints on my time."

The girl really could perk up. "If your interested I can teach you the basics of archery." She had something to offer. That actually seemed to excite her.

She nodded.

"That would be agreeable."

Much of her sadness and worry over what they had talked about upstairs seemed to fade to the background. She likely wasn't over it, but for the moment something far more interesting had her attention. Training. She loved it. The fact that she could return the favor made it even better for her. She didn't feel like a leech. (Couldn't resist)

She looked at Henri, letting her choose the lesson.

She nodded to the wall.

"Find the weapon that most matches your sword in weight. We'll start there."

She nodded. Releasing Henri's hand, she stepped toward the wall of blades, scanning them for the one that most closely resembled the one Abraham had given her. It didn't take long before she had the large blade in her hand. Her right hand for the moment.

She nodded and took up her own sword.

"Alright, let us just spar. See how you move."

Though Ren excelled with blades, even more than firearms these days, she was clearly used to a smaller, lighter blade. Still, her movements were strong, controlled. She wasn't flailing about with it.

Henri was mostly on the defensive, for now, letting the girl work out.

For the moment she stuck with her natural abilities. No disciplines. This was more so Henri could determine what she needed. She was fluid, graceful, and quick. Her balance was remarkable. The longer they kept at it, the more she seemed to slip into an almost meditative state. She enjoyed this more than she let on. For her it was both exhilarating and relaxing.

She kept it up until the girl went into a trance. Then she went on the offensive, not using gifts of the blood, but attacking in earnest.

That pulled Ren out of her Zen state. She went on the defensive. Her gaze flickering from Henri's hips to her shoulder as she kept an eye on how and where Henri was going to move.

Not hard to do, but she was starting to speed up. And it was getting harder. She was moving past human norms, though still not using the powers of the blood.

Thankfully Ren could do that as well, though it took a little blood for her to make it happen. She'd match Henri's speed for as long as she could.

It wasn't just the speed, though that was good. It was the skill. She did things with her blade that Ren had never seen before.

Even as she defended herself, Ren was studying the movements as best she could. This was why she'd come to Henri.

And that was why she was moving as slowly as she was, though the speed was still fast. And she was slightly exaggerating them, to show the moves better.

You'd think she'd taught before.

Ren was a good student. She was quiet, she didn't let her frustration or rage get the best of her. She watched, trying to copy the moves when the opportunity presented itself. She was skilled, it was just a matter of applying those skills in new ways. She loved that.

After a solid quarter hour of this, Henri stepped back and grounded her point.

"Enough."

Ren stepped back, lowering the weapon and taking a neutral stance.

She nodded and held out her sword to the woman, hilt first.

"Put the weapons away, then come join me on the dais."

Ren took the weapons, taking care to wipe down the blades before she placed them back where they belonged. On silent feet she moved to join Henri.

She sat on one of the chairs on the dais, and gestured for the other woman to join her in the other chair.

"You are good. I can help you get faster. But I think that I will be more use teaching you further tricks of the blood."

She settled into the chair, nodding and smiling a bit at the compliment. "I would be grateful for anything you are willing to teach." The young Brujah seemed far more relaxed. Sparing certainly did good things for her.

She nodded.

"I will teach you all that I can."
