Drowned (Charlie) - Gilded Cage

He listened in silence, not moving from where he was sitting until the music finally faded away. At which point he straightened up, although he didn't move off the floor, turning his face away as he lifted the back of his hand to his eyes. A light shiver briefly causing his shoulders to tremble.

Greer turned, hugged his shoulders, and softly hummed a soothing tune.

"I'm sorry..." he whispered with a hint of a smile, still not looking up as the back of his hand continued to linger at his closed eyes.
"I'm just... yeah..."
Charlie wasn't quite sure what to say, although the tremble had subsided the moment she'd touched him.

Holding him to her, "It's alright to cry. I've done my fair share of it." kissing his cheek.

Charlie moved a gentle hand to rest on her arms as he leaned back against her, although he didn't look up despite the lingering smile on his lips.
"I don't generally cry..." he said softly. "Tears don't bring the dead back or ease the pain.." the youth sighed, brushing his fingers gently against her arm.

"They actually make me feel better. A deep release that I often need." hugging him tighter.

leaning against her, he drew a deep breath and exhaled with a sigh.
"It's alright..." the youth whispered. "This helps..."

A gently nuzzle to his neck, "Glad to be of some help." , and kept him held against her.

Seemed that was all he wanted for the time being, the youth allowing himself to linger in her embrace for a few minutes longer, saying nothing before gently rubbing her arm with a soft smile as he turned his head slightly and opened his eyes slowly.
"Thank you..."

"Your welcome." still holding him.

Smiling he placed a gentle and very light kiss to her cheek, unless he pulled away, and brushed his fingers across her arm again. He was still a bit lost for words, but he seemed happy at least. Happy and relaxed.

She holds him for as long as he wants.

Perhaps he really just needed to be held, because time seemed to pass like that for a while without him really taking notice of it. When he finally did, it was with a blink of his eyes as if awakening from a day dream, needing a moment to refocus as he slowly realized where he was and who he was with.

"Greer..." he reached behind him to touch her cheek with a soft hand, brushing the hair from her face as he spoke softly. "I'm sorry... it would seem I've taken up your whole evening.."

"So..." with a sweet smile and lean into his touch "Had no plans and pleasant way to spend the eve."

The youth smiled, continuing to brush his fingers across her cheek as he closed his eyes for a moment and drew his breath, taking in her scent.
"Yes.. yes it was. Thank you..."

Greer smiles at him "See no harm no foul." kissing his cheek and then looking at the time "You staying the night in my guest room or wish to head out?"

Oh damn, the time...
The youth mentally kicked himself even though it didn't reflect on the outside.
"Not to be rude but I much rather sleep in my own home... assuming I have the time to get there" he did some quick calculations, biting his lip as he realized that he'd be cutting it way too close.

"Well I do have a spare bedroom. And I will be in my room away from you." looking at him with a concerned look.

"Oh I don't mean..." he turned to her, his lips parted as his eyes met hers and he struggled for a brief moment to find the right words. "Paranoia runs in the family heh..." Charlie sighed with a slightly sheepish smile before drawing his breath and composing himself again.
"I would love to stay, thank you. And I'm sorry for being such a horrible guest as to suggest that I don't trust your intentions when you were such a close friend of Sam's... truly, forgive me" he bowed his head.

"My dear it's ok, I could go elsewhere if you are not comfortable but it would be cutting it to close for me too." with a shrug at him.

"No please. The last thing I want to do is throw you out of your own home" he smiled apologetically, lifting her hand to his lips for a light kiss, without breaking eye contact.
"Please... I'm grateful for you generous offer and would be glad to accept as long as you assure me that I won't be in your way somehow. Thank you"

"Are you going to kick me out of my own bed?" with a mischievous smile.

"Never heh..." he smiled up at her, seeking her gaze again. "Who in their right mind would ever kick you out?"

"Oh aren't you sweet, but you'd be surprised...." with a wink at him "Come on let me make sure no one's put there stuff in the room." Walking down the hall, opening the door, "Here it's empty and yours".

The room has been done in dark plum and grey, the bed spread is obviously silk and it has a "mascaline towards neutral" feel to the room. "Have a good day charlie."

As she heads towards her room.

"You as well Greer" he smiled at her before turning back to the room and locking the door behind him.
He could scarcely believe he'd been reckless enough to forget about the time like this. Though if nothing else, he could've done worse he figured as he lay down on the bed and tucked an arm behind his head.

Sleeping in someone else's bed... yeah, that had been a while since it had last happened...

The youth closed his eyes and sighed, letting himself drift off.
