A Private Reception - Ben's Haven

"No, there are no conflicts at this time. The Seneschal and I do not make much in the way of enemies in this city."

A nod of her head . . .

"Is there anyone I should be aware of other then the prince of course . . ." She crossed her ankles and kept herself as he wished . . . Able to be heard, not to fast and very understanding. She didn't want to have him think ill of her . . .

Her sire wouldn't take too kindly to it, The sudden thought made her want to cringe but she didn't show it.

"The Gangrel Primogen, Lady Grace Dunn, is a very close friend of mine, so do not cross her. Also, Raz0r of clan Nosferatu is a trusted associate and a security official for the domain, so if you meet her, please be respectful. Other than that, I have would hope you are well versed enough in political concerns to not over step your bounds."

The elder was being very much a father speaking to a youthful teen about the ways of the world. It is easy to tell that he means no isnsult or implied threat, just simple truths of the world around her.

She nodded.

"I am and shall make sure to be respectful to your wishes, when of course dealing with those you know are your close allies." She would of course look down brush a piece of dust off her dress and then looked up.


She understood what he was doing, and it was a welcoming as it were her sire took to the other ways to show her of the ventrue world and it wasn't pleasant.

"I thank you for all you are doing to help me, Ben . . ."

"It is my pleasure to be as helpful as I can be in the matter of making your transition go smoothly."

He smiled and nodded before resuming the businessman demeanor.

"Now, why don't you explain these documents to me more thoroughly, so that I don't have to read them while we are conversing."

She nodded softly and became more serious.


"I would love too . . . You see Mr. Shade's business is more of a retrieve and deliver service. We find what say a kindred or mortal wants within reason of course and we deliver it at a price . . . Though our items are more on a . . . Special nature . . . We could be blunt and anyone with the best price wins but It really does depend on the item they are looking for really and if we will except the offer."

She made sure she was slow with wording and he understood everything she was saying.

The sound of the front door slamming shut was shortly followed by a cheerful call that sounded through the house to where the two were sitting.

"Ben!"

"I see," Ben says flatly.

He turns to the door when he hears it close and stands.

"Good evening, Raz0r. I am in the middle of speaking with Ms Magiere Shade, a new arrival to St Port Lucie."

With a look back to Magiere he introduces the two formally.

The bright Nosferatu skipped into view. She stopped when she saw the new woman, and gave a short bow, since Ben was being all up on his formal.

"Pleasure to meet you."

Then she turned to Ben with a bright smile.

"I just came by 'cause I heard you got in a shipment of books, and this is the first chance I've gotten to come over and both drool over them and make sure they're cataloged correctly."

"I'm sure that you will find everything on order," he smiled. "Some of my new books are in my private collection, so forgive me if the new acquisitions seem a bit sparse."

She would stand curtsied and smiled, seating herself back upon the sofa.

"A pleasure . . ."

She would remain silent listening to the two and studying the girl . . . She kept to herself . . . She really was unsure about people here and if she'd survive . . . She had always had . . . She removed the thought and simply kept her mind clear.

She wrinkled her nose.

"Well, then, I'll meet you in the library when you're done here. I'm off to play with the books. Your guest takes priorty over your little helper daemon."

He nods to Raz0r as she bounds off.

"Well," speaking to Magiere, "is there anything else that we need to speak on before you meet with the Prince?"

She thought a moment.

"No, I believe that is all . . ." She stood slowly brushing off her dress and looking at him. Granted she was young and granted she seemed to be now nervous . . . She still was beautiful and some hidden talent was behind her.

" I hope I make a good impression, I would hate to fail you or the venture . . . I do value your good opinion." She gave him a very beautiful royal smile.

"You have been a pleasure," he said with a smile. "Please, let me escort you out."

He got up and offered his guest an arm.

She curtsied and bowed her head and rose again. She moved gracefully over to him and took his arm . . . The smell of a sweet but strong perfume lofted toward him . . . It was comical that she wore a very intriguing perfume that matched her personality . . . She would follow when he was ready to guide her.

"You as well, Benjamin . . . I've been truly honored tonight and thank you for inviting me to your beautiful home." She replied.

"You are welcome whenever you may have the need," he said as he guided her back through the foyer and out into the night.

The car that picked her up waits at the bottom of the steps up to the manor, the driver starting the engine as soon as the doors open.

"My retainer will take you wherever you wish to go from here, within the limits of the domain of course. Remember well that beyond our borders to all sides is danger, so be cautious in your explorations."

The driver got out of the car, jogged around to the passenger side and opened the door for Ben's guest as the old Ventrue brought her down to it.

"Have a good night."

She nodded and smiled.

"I thank you again and I shall truly remember that . . . Have a wonderful night as well . . ." She curtsied then headed quickly into the car adjusting her seat . . . Once the door closed and the drive got in she instructed him to take her to her home.
