Greer's face lit up "An actually date! Oh can you tell me about her and the date or is that too private? I've been playing in a way with Estaban but he's reminding me of Amery. I think you met him in Paris when we first met you were with your sire and Amery was holding my accounting." then with a one moment "ok I am going on a different top due to your comment but talk and I'll here you. As for getting through I haven't found a 100% way to do so. But if I should be laying low I can be very hard to find you know." walking back towards a room down the hall.

He grinned.

"Oh the date. Poor Ren is shy. I don't think she's ever really been properly courted. And she's only been dead a few years. I feel like I'm robbing the cradle. But she's a bounty hunter, a crackshot, and well, an all around delightful person. Shy though, and loves mortal food still. We went and had some pizza, and then a few days later, we took the DeLorean out for a spin. Nothing major yet. But who knows. "

"Ahh the Harpy. He flirts with anything that walks upright you know. I even teased him one time about having a pretty mouth, and I dare say he would have made out with even me if I had allowed it. Speaking of flirting, Alex Rourke asked me about you. I think he's smitten. I told him your boundaries, and he was a bit disappointed I think. But I told him that he should at least try and get to know you and see how much you were willing to share with him. He's a good man, but I figured I better tell you know in case he comes courting you."

She walked back out wearing a purple shirt, the tank top now underneath, and an obvious slightly padded bra. "Oh she sounds right up your alley dangerous and all that but how are you doing with the age difference?"

Then laughing at his comment about the Harpy "I think the Harpy and the Toreador primogen if there is a hole they will go for it." with a grin at him.

"You mean the old enough to be her great grandfather bit? She doesn't look like she could have been much more than 21 when she was embraced. Eh, I'll manage. Like I told her, age means less than ability. And she has ability in spades. Damn but I felt like a dirty old man sometimes. This eternal life stuff is downright strange still. You'd think nearly a hundred years later I'd have it down."

He smiled

"Nice shirt. Hides the pokey things though. The harpy will be disappointed if he sees you around. Less sexy scandal. And yeah, I think all Toreadors are that way, right? If it has a hole, they try to stick something in it, or at least put their mouth on it?"

She laughed at him "That's the point." with the new shirt, and a sigh "What look at me right now. I have no make up on, which if we are going out I will have to, and I was embraced at 16ish." with a shake of her head at him. "I mean around the block years. I don't necessarily get a number of more modern "pop" references. Not that I won't learn but when I mention humor from when we met it's lost on the more modern." running a hand through her hair and grinning at him.

"Yeah, well you dance a hell of a Charleston. I nearly ordered a Moxie Soda when Ren had her pizza. And did you know they only make one flavor of Three Musketeers bars now? Just the chocolate, no more vanilla or strawberry. I liked the strawberry damnit. Drove my quartermaster nuts, because he did to. "

Then he laughed

"Do you ever slip up and call moves 'talkies' sometimes? I know I do. The modern cinegraph is amazing. "

Greer sits back down at the piano "I don't spend time with most things that breath. I had to in Berlin from necessity but they thought I was cute with my colloquialisms." looking at him again with a grin. "I slip all the time it's like planes still amaze me... I am so glad ships are not the only choices anymore."

"At least our kind understand the slipups. If they were around for them, or paying attention at the time. No matter how hard we try, we are still a product of our eras. I'm just glad we came from such a changing and optimistic era, where things like areoplanes, wireless communication, and those infernal combustion engines gave us a hint that someday we would be living in a glorious and amazing future. It's even more amazing we are around to see it. Can you imagine these poor elders who grew up in a feudal farming community where things had been stagnant and unchanging for generations? We at least learned to expect and even demand progress."

"Hope is an every era if one doesn't loose it after the embrace. And I am silly optimist again. I pray I never go through a dirge like that again." looking far off for a few moments "But let's let sleeping dogs lie. You want to see the full place?" motioning around the suite.

"Yes, show me the rest of the place. And let's resolve not to speak of Berlin anymore tonight. The place was a dirge and miserable for you, and I helped make it miserable for others, even as it sapped my soul."

She looks at him "NO more I agree. Come on." Reaching for his hand, and leads him back the hall. The bedroom is surprisingly more functional than luxurious, the wall is more a lilac than the soothing periwinkle in the rest of the apartment, and it really feels more like a hotel than a haven. Nothing of a personal nature is here, but clothes and some toiletries.

"Very nice but I think it will take a bit for me to get use to it. So you like Alex?" inquiring gently.

He looked around

"You aren't planning to keep this place long are you? It's functional, not personal."

"And yes, I like Alex. He's a good man, very honorable, and has too big a heart for his calling. He's of the Winterborn, the line of Odin. Sworn to protect Kindred and Kine alike from evil. Poor man just found out that the Sheriff doesn't love him the way he wants her to. Its' complicated. "

Greer looked around "I sold everything to get here Sam. I have nothing yet that's "mine" and I painted the place. I just get paranoid and have a hard time staying every night in the same place sometimes. IF hunters are around." she gets a shiver "I tend to go hide. I am hoping to be able to make it more homey but I also don't know if this Alex is going ot change his mind and I am out on my ass." shaking her head and looking at him. Taking his arm "Just a lot actually going on in here" pointing to her head "at the moment."

"You've had problems with hunters?" he asked gently

"And damnit, why didn't you tell me you were broke? How much you need, and when? I can get you a hundred grand pretty quick, more if you give me some time."

"And Alex isn't gonna change his mind. If he does, I'll kick his ass. Or at least try, and move you into one of my places. Have to get the wards changed on my home, or you can have my rooms above the shop. It's Elysium, so protected in it's own way I suppose. At least from those who respect such things."

Greer shook her head at him "I have enough for now. I don't need your money my dear. I've been offered a couple of places to stay and you are very sweet. If Alex isn't kicking me out then it will take a worry away. The toreador have offered to let me stay at the show house, and you have also offered me a place to rest. And hunters - well I am hoping to not have to deal again. It's another reason I had to leave France. I was too "distinctive"." with a shrug at him.

"We need to talk to the sheriff" he said rather coldly. "Now."

Greer looked at him "Then lets go." watching him carefully, grabbing her keys, and waiting for him to lead the way.

"Damnit to all fucking hell Greer, why didn't you say something sooner?" He was very agitated.

"Any group in particular? Any one person you know of? "

He shook his head. "Nevermind, I'm sorry. Being agitated won't do either of us any good. Let's be happy until after we see the sheriff. You look lovely tonight. How do you do it?"

He lead her down to where his DeLorean was parked.

She looks at him goes to say something "NO it was a long time ago and NO 'set' group. Will you stop it please Col." looking at him. Walking down with him to the car. "This doesn't stick out?" looking at him her hands on her hips.

She does get in and puts on makeup all the way to where ever they are going.

He sighed

"Long time ago? Ok." He visibly relaxed at that. "Maybe not so urgent then. I'm sorry. There have been ah things happening lately. "

"It's Florida. Fancy cars are everywhere. Especially among our kind. So it sticks out like every other fancy car."

Then he poked her teasingly.

"Why the makeup? Other than to tone down your looks?"

Looking at him with a grin, shaking her head "All I am saying is it's flashy to me, but then again... No we said we weren't discussing that any more this eve." then with a very amused smile "Make up helps down play and un-emphasize things." doing a few more swishes of make up "Or older."

"You scared me for a minute you know. But it's not urgent, you'll like the sheriff "


Then he laughed. "So this is Greer's ugly face?"and stuck his tongue out at her.

With a rich musical laughter "Yes what you don't like it?" sticking her tongue out at him.

"Fasten your damned safety belt" he growled playfully. "We're taking the long way"

Putting on her seat belt "Oh I love it when your forceful" with an impish grin at him.
