The Reunion (Ronny, grandpa later tho) - Her Ladyship

Ronny leans forward and kisses her on the cheek.

"Ready as I will be."

Wait did she say he was a king once?

When Ronny kissed her cheek, she leaned into it, happily accepting it.

She held his arm as she knocked politely on the study door.

The door opened with little fanfare. His eyes were cold, flat and dead. But a smile touched his lips when he saw Nyxie.

"Hello."

"Hi grandpa. I want you to meet someone. This is Ronny, Ronny this is Grandpa" she said as she was holding onto Ronny's arm. There was genuine joy in her eyes.

Ronny give the man a polite bow.

"It is a pleasure to meet you sir."

He returned the gesture with a formal half-bow.

"I have heard much about you."

"I hope you haven't heard anything bad about me."

The smile was brief, but it was there. The slight upturning of his lips, then just a quickly gone.

"All of it good."

"I hope you are enjoying Port St. Lucie."

Wow this is weird.

He flashed that smile again. Brief, and instantly gone.

"It is where the Lady wishes to be."

"If there is anything I can help you with please let me know."

He nodded.

"I will keep it in mind."

Nxyie stood silent, a rare occasion and looked back and forth between the two of them.

"Does he meet your approval Grandpa?' She looked towards the man in the doorway of the study as she spoke. Her arms still wrapped around one of Ronny's.

He turned his eyes to Nyxie. Part of his face visibly softened.

"Does he meet yours, my dear?"

"He does. He has something things to learn, but so do I. He makes me laugh which is important."

She paused thoughtfully.

"He has always been sincere and honest with me, which is hard to find among our kind."

Ronny smiled looking between the two of them.

His smile was again brief.

"Then he does meet my approval."

"yeah" she squealed, jumping and grabbing Bunicul in a hug her feet leaving the ground.

"I'm so happy" joy radiated from her.

It was barely seen. But his face softened, his arm sliding around Nyxie as she hugged him. He smiled, and it even looked genuine.

"Good, my dear. Very good."

She softened in his arms, receiving the warmth that he showed her, it seemed to soak into her skin. She slowly released him, taking her time and looking deep into his eyes. He saw the courage and strength there flash, renewed.

"I'm going to show him around. I'll come by your study later?"

He nodded.

"If you run into trouble, let me know."

"Always."

She turned to Ronny stepping out of grandpa's arms.

"Come on I'll show you around." a radiant smile on her face.

He nodded, then seemed to slip back into the room he had been in.

Ronny gives the man a polite bow and then turns to Nyxie.

"I'd love to."

"So now that I've met you grandpa I'm going to have to introduce you to my adoptive mother."
