"Elizabeth." It was Thalion's melodic voice on the other end.

"So good to hear a voice of reason."

"Griselda's gaudy home of repressed feelings." He said back miserably. "I was stupid. I wanted to help my sister understand... she's standing right here looking pissed. I'd come home if I could. How's Dolly?"

"I don't know. Areron's replacement ghoul for me, Jessie, is here." He said with disgust. "Salif and at least 4 other ghouls for Griselda. But I didn't get a chance to walk around before they locked me up."

"Thalian, you are MINE. I will come get you, and none of them will find you again. Has she forced you to drink?"

"They've got magic all over the place. Don't be dumb like me. You stay safe. I'll come back to you, I promise." He said back, teeth clenched. He was bound and determined to be returned home, no matter the cost.

"What can I do to help? I need you home, Thalian. I need you here with me."

"I miss you. Tell Darius I miss him too for me?" It was the only time his voice softened a little.
