Message from Eve (Bethy) - Darius and Crew

He came into the house and immediately called for his ghoul.

"Elizabeth?"

She was in the living room watching the news, but she quickly turned it off and answered.

"Here."

He smiled as he came into the room.

"I have a message for you. From Eve."

Her face lit up and she nodded.

"What does she say?"

He smiled at her.

"That Chet is being an idiot and believes she intends to kill him. She wished for you to know that she doesn't."

She bit her lip and nodded. Her eyes were worried, and it wasn't long before her lip was bleeding due to her worrying it between her teeth.

"Can I go see her?"

He smiled and reached out to brush a hand over her hair.

"Of course you can. You need not get permission to see your friends, Elizabeth."

She licked the blood from her lip and nodded. Then she closed her eyes and nuzzled into his hand.

"She's a good friend. What did you think?"

He smiled.

"I was honestly more worried about his half-assed attempt to come after me. But she seems nice."

She growled.

"He would come after you?"

He smiled and shook his head.

"It's nothing for you to worry about."

She nodded and relaxed.

"If you say so."

He smiled and kissed the top of her head.

"Go see Eve."

She nodded.

"Did she go back to her forest?"

He smiled.

"I believe so. I didn't really ask her. She said you knew how to get in touch with her if I needed."

"I do. If I go see her, I will not be back by sunrise."

"That is all right. Just be careful, Elizabeth. That's all I ask."

She nodded.

"Learned to drive. Bought SUV. All the safety features. I'll take care, and call when I get there, before you sleep, and I'll bed down in the cage when I return. So you can see me when you wake up."

He nodded with a smile.

"That sounds wonderful. Thank you for being so considerate."

She nodded, then stood.

"Of course. I just have to change, and I'll be on my way."

He nodded and smiled again, heading toward his bedroom.

"I have a bit of work to do. See you when I wake, Elizabeth."

She nodded and headed into her room to dress warmly in jeans and a sweater, grabbing her jacket, keys and purse on her way out the door to see a wild woman.
