Past Midnight (ST) - Darius and Crew

There had been no lingering clove to her apartment, the bed had not been slept in, and she had not been around when he had awoken.  

She was getting in late figuring he'd be out, her black dress wasn't overly sexual, the pearls she wore meant she'd been out doing business, and the 6" heels just added to the ensemble.

Her hair had been braided, her make up still perfect, and she headed to the closet.  There wasn't really anything left here, but a few changes of clothes, she'd been slowly moving out for a bit, and taking her time so it wasn't obvious.

Yes she was mad, mad on a number of levels and yet she was sure he had plenty of toys to keep him busy, that he'd never notice, and that was the plan.  She set down the lap top bag on the desk, she bent over to start it up, well someone was still working and then she started to take off her jewelry.

A pair of hands were suddenly at her back. Helping her to take off her jewelry, his fingers were gentle. And for once, warm. Cold -- Darius was one very cold bastard. No matter how hard he tried to feel something... the most he could manage was boredom and irritation. No other emotions came easily to him. But he was damn good at faking it.

"You're home late."

She stopped at his touch "Working." she said coolly back. Going to take a step away from him.

Which was something he wasn't going to let happen. She moved to step away from him and he hauled her easily back against him.

"You're angry."

"I'm busy." she said trying to step away again with a soft growl that confirmed his words. She took off the necklace and handed it to him.

"You know sometimes you could pretend to care." with a sigh and if he let her step away she'd be taking her hair down.

No, he wasn't letting her go. But his manner was... a little more gentle than he normally used with her.

"Savannah. Talk to me. Don't be like this."

"What the fuck is Emily who the fuck knocked her up?" she turned on him "WHY is it's Cage in your bedroom? and Why can she come over here whenever she wishes?" with a soft frustrated tone.

He lay his index finger gently against her lips. He looked her in the eyes calmly and answered her questions in the order that they were received.

"Emily is a girl that I met at the church. She was nice and I thought she might be able to help me find the Child I'm looking for, with her faith. I have no idea who got her pregnant, though it certainly wasn't me. As for Elizabeth's cage being in my bedroom, it makes her feel safe to sleep in the cage and even more safe to be near where I am. And what do you mean come over here whenever she wishes? I've sent her over here a few times and beyond that, it's likely because she looks up to you. She knows how important you are to me."

"What child are you looking for? See you've not told me that." with a sigh and look at him. "But what if she's kin and you just blew my cover?" looking up at him with a frown.

"The Child sleeps within the earth. You'll understand more soon. As for her being kin, I'm fairly sure that's not the case. She didn't seem to recognize you at all, and the truth of it is that even if she was, nothing about unpacking an apartment seems remotely out of place."

"Does she know what you are?" she said looking at him with a frown. With a push of his shoulder.

He shook his head.

"Of course not."

"You so sure?" looking at him with a frown as she ran a hand through her hair. A glimpse of worry across her face, she was looking at him, searching his face for something, and looking at him.

He could see and feel the rage from her, "Talking to me would be nice and explaining surprises would be nice..." she said softly to him and again pushed him. Yeah it was going to be one of those nights.

He grunted from the force of her shove, but it caused him to tighten his hand on her arm. Pulling her tightly against him.

"Do you forget which one of us is in charge, Savannah?"

She growled at him louder "Are you?" she said with a low hiss to her words, trying to pull her arm away as she again went to slap him as her eyes went to the dark hematite with another wash of her pent up rage flows from her.

He caught her wrist with one hand, turning her body with the other. He moved, one step, to slam her back against the wall. His eyes met hers and he growled in answer, his bright green eyes almost glowing as his mouth came just inches from her ear.

"Do you doubt me, Savannah? Again?"

She growled back at him, as he pinned her and she went to nip his lower lip as she stared back in his eyes, yearning to have him dominate her and reminder her that she was his.

She didn't know how to ask him to do so her lips said "No I don't doubt you." she said evenly, while her body fought his pinning and a hiss "she's in your room nightly..."

The more she fought, the more she gave him an excuse to slam her back against the wall. Not hard enough to hurt her -- just hard enough to make a point.

"And whose bed am I in?"

"Your bed.." she said back lowly with a growl, still fighting him - what it had been a bit since they'd been together she figured he'd found a ton of candy to play with here, which was to be expected but she arched off the wall almost getting away as she kept her eye contact with him and he had her pinned.

She needed to feel on all levels he was at his A game, new territory, new toys and her paranoia of being found out. She logically knew he had it under control but this was her illogical, emotional and more feral side needing him to remind her he was the one in control here, not her.

Which meant that the next time he slammed her against the wall, it hurt just a bit.

"God damn it, Savannah. You know as well as I do that the only person I give a fuck about, really give a fuck about, is you."

She took a sharp breath at the slam, her eyes starting to fade back to indigo as he spoke and she nodded to him. "I need you." she said softly looking at him back in the eyes. "I hate this time of year, I hate change and and and...." she had a pout at him. "I hate she's in your bedroom...." she whispered that part, with more a growl, as he heard a slight territorial edge that she'd not had in a very very long time.

Her hands went to push him away but it was more to gauge if they were going to throw down and have intense make up sex or she was going to be reminded again not to cross him.

He didn't move away from her. Not even close. She couldn't get away from him that easily. Instead, he pressed against her, pinned her to the wall, though this time, his hand came up to caress her cheek. He was staring into her eyes, his thumb brushing lightly over her bottom lip. He smiled at her. He wasn't mocking her. He smiled appreciatively.

"So if I were fucking her, you'd be fine with that. You hate that she's in my bedroom. Where no one usually goes but you."

She nodded at him "I'm use to sharing your attention." gently leaning into his touch "but but waking up was you and me time...." she said barely above a whisper to him.

Still looking him in the eye, "You know I can smell them right?" she said very softly. "Even if it's just arousal around you....."

He brushed his thumb over her lip again. Then he brushed a gentle kiss over her lips.

"And Elizabeth needs special handling, baby. She's scared, she's confused and most of all, she's fighting the bond of a man who didn't treat her the way she needed to be treated. She'll get comfortable soon. And you are still welcome in my bedroom, in my bed, whether she is there or not. She knows, without any sort of question, that it's you that I want."

He smiled at her, nuzzling her cheek likely for a moment. Then he brushed a kiss over her lips again.

"As for the others... Does it bother you, Savannah? To smell the scent of them, the scent of sex, on me?"

She kissed his thumb, then leaned into his kisses and she let out a soft sigh as he nuzzled her cheek briefly, then looking him in the eyes "In the beginning yes, but then you still came for me." she said softly and tried to kiss him if he'd let her.

"I've gotten use to it, if it bothers me it wouldn't matter would it?" she replied honestly with no malice or drama to her statement.
