Monster Bash 2011

Well, then... That got a bigger response than Cass had expected. Of course, when she arrived with Jamie, she paid for them both and even donated an extra $60 for the charity pot.

Of course, in these crowds, she walked her bike in, her helmet strapped to the left handlebar. She was in her black and white leathers and boots. Her hair was pulled back into a French braid and the end tucked under to make sure that even when her helmet was on, nothing was hanging loose.

Cass went right for the racing sign up sheets-- there was no conversation about it. Her name went on every race, every exhibition that was listed for the evening. And she took a number, which she had put right on her back.

It was a much needed night out.

For Jim, street racing was the occasional run against the punks in Baltimore and the lone race in New York, though that one was for a vastly different reason.... But he'd never raced his bike.

So when it posted and with the absence of anything pressing (the rolls repair was going very smoothly, thankyouverymuch) the former Operator decided to jump on this. After convincing Shauna to come along, he hitched the bike trailer to the Jeep, put a Vacation sign on the window of the shop and headed north.


Once there, he made certain where he could park the jeep with trailer (and tools!) then went off to register. Once entered in a handful of races, Jim returned to the trailer and pulled the bike down. Retrieving the helmet, he set it on the handlebars and looked about.

"Good thing this is for a charity... otherwise I'd ask you to examine my head." He said to Shauna.

"You need your head examined anyway Jim." She tapped it then pointed to him. "For more than a charity race."

A chuckle. "Well... yeah," He said. "I'm involved with a woman who loves running into burning buildings for a living- and has gotten me to go with her into them... and willing to do so again too. Of course I need my head examined for more than a race...." A silly grin as he leaned over to deliver a kiss on her forehead.


A look around. "At least I gave up trying to help everyone all the time. I make one offer and that's it. After that, its negotiations..." A pause. "Or at the very least the request has a please attached. Thanks for coming- this should be pretty cool..."

The Toreador took the helmet from her bike and slipped it on over her head. She lifted the visor as she turned to look at the Brujah who had decided to accompany her, much to her surprise and gave gesture with a shake of her head.

"Alright if I go ahead out to the asphalt?" Because she was just itching to go and burn some rubber.

She took his kiss and gave him a smile. "Safety helmet. Be a good example for the kids." She pulling the helmet and plunking it on his head.

Laughter. "Always... I want to keep me head right were it is and a helmet helps with that," He said. "At least on a bike it does." A quick once over of the motorcycle and he began to move it out and towards the track.

First things first. The Brujah donated another $100 to the charity pot. Then he turned to look at Cassiel, the smile on his face.

"I'm wonderin' why ye are still here, lass. Go, go."

"AS Jim took off with the bike ot head for the practice area Shauna scanned the crowd and headed off to check out the concessions and te other things associated with the grounds.

The blond, casually dressed as seemingly always, sporting a pair if baggy jeans with a studded leather belt at her hip, a blue tank top and a slightly worn denim jacket, bit her lip as she looked around, catching a glimpse of Cassiel as she talked with Jamie.
Diego, the stuffed teddy bear, was of course, as always, dangling from her belt as she lifted a hand and waved more than a little enthusiastically at the two before making her way over regardless of whether or not she'd be able to do so before the Rose pulled out onto the track.

Cass caught sight of Teddy waving as she moved to put the visor down on her helmet-- how could she not with her waving like she was. She grinned, watching the toymaker make her way toward them. She looked at Jamie.

"Jamie, meet Teddy Blue," she chuckled as Teddy came within earshot of the two and Cass gestured to the blonde happily. "Teddy, meet Jamie. Sit. Talk toys, huh?"

And now the visor went down as Cass' engine roared to life. She gave a little wave-- much less enthusiastic than Teddy had been, but it was friendly wave nontheless.

Laughing, he looked up at the blonde, a little surprised. But he offered his hand for a shake, nonetheless.

"It's a pleasure t' meet ye, Miss Blue."

Surprised? In all honesty he wasn't the only one as the blond's expression probably revealed more than she would've liked it to. None the less, despite the few moments of goldfish look, she was quick to take his hand and flash him a genuinely bright smile.
"It's just Teddy, really" the toymaker bit her lip though without dropping the smile. "It's really nice to meet you, sir"

His grip was firm, but he laughed and shook his head, waving away the commentary for the moment.

"Just call me Jamie, lass. It's a pleasure t' finally meet ye."

"Yeah, you know, that just makes it sound like you've heard lots about me and that I'm gonna have a Hell of a time trying to live it all down" she laughed, returning the handshake with a definitively less firm touch compared to his, though she had a good handshake none the less.

He shook his head and waved his hand dismissively again.

"I've only heard tha' ye are in town an' tha' ye be a toymaker. Nay verra much t' live down, there."

"Hm, she's been much too nice then" the bubble blond chuckled again, tucking her hands into her back pockets. "But yeah, that pretty much sums up most of it" she said, gaze drifting to the track for a moment. "I've been meaning to come by to see you, but you're a busy busy man. I got a small token of gratitude for letting me stay that I would like to give you sometime"

He seemed surprised by that.

"Och, aye? I'll look forward t' seein' ye, then."

She was balancing on her heels when she answered.
"Sounds good! I'll try to sneak in between the important stuff and the boring stuff. Give ya a short break from stuff in general" she grinned.

He laughed again.

"Sounds quite wonderful, actually. I could use a break."

The smirk behind the visor went unseen as Cass turned and sped away. When she approached the back end of the gaggle of racers at the starting line, she began to chat them up briefly as she adjusted the gloves on her hands on got off of her Fireblade long enough to give it a once over.

She was still as impatient to go than ever.

Grabbing a popcorn fresh from the popper Shauna made her way through the crowds. Today she was NOT in uniform. Today it was jeans and a Fire Fighter's T-shirt with her flaming red hear unbraided or tethered and blowing in the wind.

"It's a deal then" Teddy smiled at him, finding that she was pleasantly relieved to meet a Prince that didn't just intimidate her right off the bat. Jamie seemed, well, almost human.

He laughed again.

"Good! Now, are we goin' t' see Cassiel doin' some amazinn' tricks? I confess, I've never seen her ride."
