Blue Christmas (continued) - Creator's Workshop

Cass pulled her keys out of her pocket with a forced smile as she held them up, as if showing Teddy.

"Safe."

She was fast when she wanted to, the Caitiff's dexterity far better than what one might think at first, as her hand shot out and snatched the keys as if a viper striking for its prey.
"Easy way out" the blond said, tossing the keys into the air once before catching them again. "Besides, taking a chance on a relationship? That's not safe Cassie" she smiled. "But that's also why it's worth it so as far as I see it?" Teddy offered her the keys back. "Your choice is the same as mine"

"And when he decides it's time to leave? What then?" She didn't seem agitated by the fact her friend had her keys, she half expected it anyway. But her hands went deep on her pockets.

"Better to regret something you've done, than something you didn't" she said softly. "Who's to say he will run? Who's to say that it will end poorly? The future's not written. -We- make the future" because you know what? The Caitiff really did prefer to look at the possibilities and the positive side of things.
"So enjoy what you have, and fight to keep it"

Cass stepped toward Teddy and held her hand out, palm out. She really did look miserable-- but all things considered, if any one person knew every single thing that had been happening, no one could possibly blame her for her feelings, could they?

"Keys, Gepetto. Can't really do much fighting without them."

Teddy got up off the bed and reached out to place the key's in Cass' hand though in the process, she also closed her fingers gently around the Rose's hand.
"I'll help" came the simple but gently spoken offer. "If I can? Please?" because she really didn't have that many friends so what few she did have? The toymaker really did try her best to look after them.

Cass pulled Teddy to her and wrapped her arms around her. She gave a friendly kiss to her cheek, and whispered to her. "Make me my own Jiminey Cricket?"

The embrace was returned with gentle arms a light squeeze from the blond who smiled and rested her forehead against Cassiel's shoulder.
"Gladly" she smiled softly, holding the Rose for a few moments longer as if making sure she really wasn't going to just jump out the window and make a run for it. "But you'd have to think of a better name" Teddy added with a chuckle. "Pretty sure Jiminey Cricket is copy righted"

She gave a brief little laugh and squeezed her. If she was going to run, she gave no indication-- no flinching, tensing or desire to pull away. Just yet anyway.

"I'll come up with something, I'm sure. Something as unique as the design, yeah?"

"Sounds like a good deal" the Caitiff sighed almost as if in relief. "At leas then you'd have to hang around long enough for me to finish working, right?" she said as she pulled back just enough to look at her. "And I really want to me Alex. Even if he doesn't have a tail"

"Haven't anywhere to go, so I'll be here," she nodded. She pulled away and took out the room's stationary and pen and wrote down an address and phone number.

"Some reason you can't get me on my cell, here's the number to Rourke International and the address. Building's pretty hard to miss-- I think it's the tallest one in the city. I'm not always there, though. If you can't find me there, call Medwyn-- he'll know. I share a room with the man, after all." She tossed the pen down and left the pad of paper where Teddy could see it.

"Hey, Diego, my main bear," Cass squatted down on her haunches, holding her hands out to Diego with a smile. "Can I get some love?"

Oh, teddy bear love she got as the stuffed animal held its arms out as if wanting a cuddle as it walked over to her on stubby legs.

And Teddy? The capital T Teddy in this case, she had to quickly turn away, which probably wasn't noticed anyways since Cassiel was busy with Diego, to hide the initial reaction. Which was probably somewhere between surprise and disappointment.
He shared a room with Cassiel...? Shit... That was... that was a solid nail in the coffin wasn't it?

The Caitiff, who really wasn't that much of a liar, still pulled herself together and covered over the expression with a smile as she turned back to look at the two. She wasn't going to lie about anything now was she? She simply wouldn't bring it up and as such, she wouldn't have to lie. Simple solution.

"Will do" the seemingly still bouncy blond said as she linked her fingers behind her back and chewed on her lip for a moment.
"Hmm, feel like a movie? Think this place has a decent selection to choose from"

She nodded to Teddy as she gave Diego a light cuddle and then promptly sat on the floor.

"Sounds good-- got Netflix on the computer, too, if we need." She reached out to poke her in the leg. "Hey... I found a button, didn't I? Which part though?"

She looked up to study her friend closely.

"Couldn't be about Alex or the building downtown... Oh," she said softly. "You mentioned you met Medwyn, that he was nice. Look, it's not what you think." Well, not really... at all. Oh Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

"No!" she exclaimed. "No no no no no" the blond laughed and flailed her arms. "Sheesh Cass, are you insane? He's a Ghoul. And he's the Prince's Ghoul. What do you think I am? Suicidal?" she shook her head and giggled, one hand finding the back of her neck and rubbing it for a moment.
"And honestly, whatever arrangements you have between you and the Prince and Alex and Mewdyn or whatever, it's none of my business, and even if it were? It's all good" Teddy smiled, turning around and flopping onto the bed to reach over it and grab the bag laying on the floor on the other side to retrieve her lap top.

"Arrangements?" God, did it really look that way? For fuck's sake, this was more horrifying than she thought. She gave a sigh, one of disappointment. "No arrangements, sugar. Not like that. The prince... He took me in to make me part of his family-- to offer protection, like I said. The room I sleep in is the only other sunproof room. Two beds, nothing so... untoward. That would just be utter disaster, wouldn't it?"

But, obviously, Teddy didn't want to talk about it. So... mother fucker... Cass dropped it.

Out came the laptop as she scanned Netflix.

"Hey, I didn't mean bed arrangements you know?" she said as she pulled her own lap top out and sat back up, though she didn't open it seeing as Cass was already looking for a movie.
"Arrangements can be other things too" the blond smiled. Yup, still smiling.
She seemed fine actually, except for that itching feeling in the back of her mind that she'd upset her friend.

"Cassie..."
The lap top was put down as she crawled over and snuck up behind Cassiel, moving her arms around her shoulders and resting her cheek on the Rose's left shoulder.
"You know me don't you? I'm just casual and easy going yes? And you know I don't think of you to be.... well, what it must've sounded like I was saying earlier. Sorry..."

She gave a shrug as she reached up to touch her arm, a small smile on her lips. "I know you didn't mean anything by. I'm not upset by it in the least. There's just been some drama there. I'm pretty sure Medwyn hates me, and I wouldn't blame him if he did. It hasn't been easy being there, you know? So I've been trying to stay away when I can."

She looked over her shoulder at Teddy, her smile still there. "This staying put thing is hard."

Her arms around Cass' shoulder, one hand resting on the opposite arm, Teddy reached out and pointed a finger to the lap top screen.
"Bride of Chucky" she said with a smirk as she turned her head just enough to look at Cass whens he turned to look at the blond. "Let's watch some evil toys huh? And Cass? No one hates you" Teddy gently nudged her head against the Rose's before giving her a friendly peck on the cheek.

Maybe no one did yet... But they would, if she had anything to say about it. But she left her own plots and planning to herself as she smiled and clicked the horror flick and brought it to full screen mode. Cass snuggled into Teddy for a moment before lifting the computer over her head to the Caitiff.

"Hold this," she smiled as she stuck her hand in her bag and pulled out the wires to connect it to the hotel room's tv. "Always come prepared."

She had to admit, it was nice to have Teddy back-- really, it was. Someone she didn't have to explain herself to, someone who just knew her. And didn't judge. Very nice, indeed.

The lap top was taken and held with a smile before hanging it over so Cass could hook it up while the Caitiff arranged the pillows to make the bed as comfortable as possible and slipped under the covers for the simple reason that it was cozy. It was always cozier under the covers.

Teddy patted the bed next to her and held the covers up so she could just drape them over the Rose as soon as she joined her, giving her a light nudge with her elbow and a smile that said, well, everything really.

Teddy wouldn't judge. She had no reason to. She had no ulterior motives. She was pretty damn straight forward most of the time and that? That was usually enough to make people relax once they figured out she was actually just being honest.

"Just like old times hm?"

The opening credits came onto the tv before Cass finally slipped away from the tv and kicked off her boots. The Rose slid under the covers and nudged the blonde back lightly. She did know that about Teddy, which made everything so much simpler. And right now? Simple was so fucking good. Too many things were complex and up in the air. So this really was a nice distraction-- even if it was only to last for a little while.

"Oh yeah, old times," she smiled. "They're just aren't any poker or roulette tables. Or top hats. There aren't enough top hats, dammit!" She chuckled.

"Oooooh, casinos... and blackjack... and don't ever let me near one while I got my credit cards on me" Teddy laughed, leaning into the pillows she'd stacked against the back of the bed and snuggled in under the covers a bit more while Diego took the opportunity to climb up onto the bed and plop down along with RnR who'd once again taken to mimicking a ball in hopes of being left alone.

"That's why you should only ever take cash, dearheart," she chuckled softly, poking her in the shoulder. She looked down at Diego with another soft chuckle. "I was wondering how long it would take you to bring him up here," and she poked him softly in the belly. She sat up just a bit, leaning at an odd, but comfortable angle on the pillows and headboard, waiting for the screeching music that often accompanied films like this one with an amused expression.

Bad movie with good company? Yeah, it was a good way to spend an evening. Even more so when neither really had to move when they got tired, they could just roll over and go to sleep. Which in Teddy's book was pretty damn close to perfect.
