Songs and Dragons (Greer, Christine) - Lowrey Manor

"We oddly do in many ways." with a smile.

She opened the door at the back of the kitchen and gestured for the woman to proceed her.

"I hope that none come between that."

Greer was reflective "I will take the time I have, and if someone can then it wasn't meant to be right?" with a charming smile at her.

She reached out and lightly touched the woman's cheek.

"You are a rare gift. If he ever sets you aside, come to me. I will care for you."

"Thank you for the offer but I hope to not have to take you up on that soon. No offense meant." with a sweet smile at her.

She smiled and took her arm, leading her to the giant stable in the back.

"None taken. I, too, hope you do not have to take me up on it. Ever. But the offer is there."

"Thank you very much." with a nod to her. "I am sorry we've not met before now, but I normally stay out of the limelight." following the other woman to the stables.

She nodded.

"I have not spent much time outside my own walls. But when Jim told me of you, I knew that I must make a point of inviting you to my home."

"Oh he mentioned me?" curiously asked. Looking around the beautiful grounds and keeping an easy pace with her.

She nodded.

"He mentioned he had a lady. And I asked to meet her. When he told me your clan, I was put in mind of a dear old friend of mine."

"Really? I may know of them if they are also a Daughter." with a gentle smile. "And sorry to be curious it's just been a subtle thing in some ways and not in others."

She smiled.

"My friend was killed many years ago. She sang the wrong song for the wrong people. I was saddened, but I had my revenge."

Greer nodded sadly "I am glad someone got revenge for her death. I try to avoid singing in public with our kind." softly said with her smooth velvety voice.

She smiled.

"But you will sing for me? I have missed the tones that seem to only come from the lips of a Daughter."

"Yes at sometime." with a bright smile. "This evening I was not prepared to perform, so maybe another night?"

She smiled.

"Of course, I would not rush an artist."

At this point, they reached the stables. And when she opened the door she was greeted by many happy horse sounds.

Which was when he came jogging up, leashes in hand.

Greer turned towards him, her face lit up as the boys also ran to meet him, and then a glance into the stables as well. A glance back at the hostess, yes there were many pretty things to see here.

He leaned over to attach the leashes to the animals and straightened back up with a grin. "Ya like showin' off your stables, don't ya, Miss Lowrey?"

She laughed.

"I told you, they are my pride and joy."

He laughed. "Yeah, ya did."

Greer watched the two of them and then waited to meet Miss Lowery's pride and joy.

She whistled and here came a black beauty prancing up to her, eyes filled with intelligence.

"Greer, meet Demon. And before you ask, Jim, yes, I've bonded him now."

Carefully holding her hand flat to the horse to see if it will let her near it, she just stared at the beautiful horse before her "Oh Miss Lowery..." she said in an approving and sensual way.

She smiled as the horse sniffed at Greer's hand, then lipped at it to see if she had food.

"Yes, I love him."
