Twenty Minutes (Marvin & Open) - Marvin's Haven

She took Rai's hand after a moment's hesitation, but could not bring herself to look her in the eye.

She glanced at the Malkavian.

"I'll be back, Marvin. I'm going to get her settled."

Then she drew Cassiel to her, wrapping an arm around her waist.

"Don't worry, darling. We need to have a little chat on the way to the house, but I'm going to help you. I'll keep you safe."

"Thank you Sheriff." he said with a smile. "Have a good night, both of you. And Cass.... I think you are in very good hands."

She took the keys from her pocket and laid them on an end table by the door. It was her way of telling Marvin... well... that her truck might be on his property for a while.

"Take care of Charlie, will you," she said to Marvin over her shoulder to the Malkavian.

She merely nodded to Rai.

She smiled at the Malkavian.

"We'll get your car in a bit, Marvin."

She turned to lead Cassiel toward her SUV, closing the door to Marvin's house behind her.
